S'mores Hot Chocolate

It's STILL winter, and that means it's still the season for hot chocolate of every kind!  There is nothing better than a piping hot cup of cocoa to warm your insides after sledding, ice skating, or in my case, standing in the cold beach breeze all day.  Also, nothing can unite friends and family like S'mores can.  Why not combine the two and make irresistible S'mores hot chocolate for yourself and your loved ones?  I've come up with a quick, easy recipe that is sure to please everyone.  Make sure to try S'mores hot chocolate before the weather warms up!

Ingredients

To make one mug of delectable S'mores hot chocolate you will need:
  • 1 cup chocolate milk
  • 4 marshmallows
  • 1 Tbsp Nutella
  • 1 graham cracker
I'm sensitive to dairy, so I typically use dark chocolate soy milk.  If you haven't tried it before, you need to make a trip to the store...right now.  I think it tastes better than normal chocolate milk, and it has less calories.

Directions

1.  Place graham cracker into a plastic bag.  Use any means you find necessary to turn that graham cracker into dust.  Pour graham cracker crumbs onto a small plate.

2. Use a knife to rim your mug with Nutella.  Place mug upside-down into the graham cracker crumbs and twist.  Make sure that the graham cracker completely covers the Nutella.  Now you have a mug rimmed with graham cracker!

 3.  Heat chocolate milk on the stove or in the microwave until hot.  Pour chocolate milk into mug, while being careful to avoid spills on the graham cracker rim.

4.  Slide marshmallows onto a roasting stick.  I don't have a fancy marshmallow roasting stick, so I always slide my marshmallows onto a chopstick.  It works surprisingly well.  Turn a burner to high heat, and roast your marshmallows about 3-6 inches above your burner.  The marshmallows will roast just as they would if they were held over a real campfire.  It doesn't matter whether your oven is gas or electric!
5.  Place marshmallows on top of the chocolate milk.  Garnish with more graham crackers or Hershey's chocolate, as you please.
I love breaking through the layer of crisp toasted marshmallows with my spoon to the creamy warm chocolate milk underneath, and I relish the graham cracker flavor with every sip.  I think I'm ready for another cup of S'mores hot chocolate after writing this post.  Yum!
