Frozen Greek Yogurt Bites

Little Harp would eat yogurt all day if he could.  I'm thankful that yogurt happens to be quick healthy snack, but yogurt does have it's drawbacks.  First off, yogurt isn't very easy for a toddler to eat.  If I let Little Harp feed himself with a spoon, he makes a gigantic mess.  Secondly, traveling with yogurt is quite challenging.  To keep it from getting warm, I have to bring some sort of cooler. If I do happen remember the cooler, I still have to feed it to him so he doesn't make that mess I mentioned earlier.

Instead of feeding Little Harp yogurt in a cup, I've started to feed him frozen yogurt bites and I'm never going back.  In a couple minutes, I can make the yogurt bites with whatever kind of yogurt we have on hand.  They are super easy for Little Harp to eat because he can just pick them up with his fingers, and they are a fantastic travel snack.  I just scoop a few into a baggie, and they will stay cold for a couple hours.  Not to mention, he loves them!

Directions:

1.  Spoon yogurt into a piping bag or into a plastic baggie.  I usually choose the plastic baggie because piping bags can get expensive!

If you are talented, you can spoon the yogurt in the bag without making a mess.  I am definitely not that talented, so I put the plastic bag in a cup and roll down the sides over the edge of the cup.  That way, the bag doesn't move and stays open while I use two hands to spoon in the yogurt.
2.  Cut a 1/4 inch hole in one corner of the bag.  Adjust the size as you see fit.  My bites ended up being about the size of a quarter.
3.  Place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

4.  Hold the bag vertical over parchment paper.  Squeeze the base of the bag until a dollop of yogurt comes out.  Lift straight up and away. Repeat.

5.  Place in freezer for about 1 hour.

Enjoy! Yogurt bites are a healthy snack that your toddler is sure to love!  I bet you'll love snacking on them too!
